A permanent, full-time vacancy has arisen at Guildford Borough Council’s MOT Bay for a MOT Bay Assistant. You will work as part of a small team testing and inspecting vehicles in the Council’s MOT Testing Station. You will assist the MOT Testers with MOT tests on class 4 vehicles, taxi and private hire vehicle tests
and Engineers Inspections. In the absence of the MOT Tester, you will carry out safety inspections of Taxi and Private Hire vehicles and carry out associated administrative tasks.

You must hold a full driving licence valid to drive manual gear cars in the UK in order to drive vehicles in and out of the MOT Bay and will have experience of driving a variety of vehicles. You will have knowledge of how vehicles operate and will have demonstrable experience of carrying out repairs or inspecting vehicles. In addition, you will have good customer service skills and basic IT
skills to include keyboard and data entry skills.
