Job Role:

The Site Support Engineer must be quality driven and customer focused with technical ability to repair and maintain the company's equipment both at the bedside and back office.

The role provides 1st level technical and operational support to the sites within a specific geographical area. (Cover in other areas may be required from time to time)

Key Responsibilities:

* Maximising the uptime (technical availability to customers) of the Bedside Unit
* Working towards company targets to ensure customer satisfaction including ensuring the units are presentable for patients
* Maximising the on-site repair of faulty bedside units and where necessary installing replacement parts
* Carrying out quarterly H&S checks
* Management and effective upkeep of bedside unit test equipment for fault detection
* Resolve customer generated problems and queries ('Bleeps') and deal with customer queries
* Clean & prepare all faulty equipment for return to the Repair Centre
* Operate site-based fault logging and reporting systems such as PET & Fault Logger
* Management of escalated faults to ensure fixes are completed in a timely manner, and that downtime is minimal.
* Effective management and handling of any customer complaints, including escalation where applicable.
* Refreshing of all bedside units that are visited
* Management & maintenance of all equipment and ward consumable stock levels to ensure the correct levels of stock are in place.
* Management and maintenance of site POS/literature as per company levels/standard procedures
* Management of 3rd party suppliers in relation to the company's products on site

Skills / Experience Required:

* RF data networks and TV distribution systems.
* CAT 5 and Fibre data networks
* Server and PC hardware/software in a Microsoft/Linux networking environment
* Analogue and digital/VOIP telephone networks
* TCP/IP network fundamentals including working with Windows software configurations

Skills / Experience Desired:

* MCSE/MCDST (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer/Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician)
* Experience of working with Vending machines and Payphones
* 3rd/4th Edition Electrical
* Relevant Audio Visual Industry qualification
* Relevant cabling/infrastructure qualification

- Plan migration strategies for roll out of new applications and hardware
- Manage and maintain VMware virtual infrastructure including DR site infrastructure     

IT Systems Security

- Produce regular reports on email and internet usage and to monitor and report security and policy breaches when they occur.
- Implement effective policies on web and email filtering that allow effective use of these resources without compromising network security (Symantec.Cloud Email Security)
- Update firewall configurations (Watchguard) to allow their clients system to effectively communicate with external systems whilst maintaining system integrity.
- Ensure mobile device security is in place, configured and up-to-date (Blackberry, iPhone, iPad and Laptop encryption)

IT Systems Maintenance and Administration

- Staff administration, setting up users, rights and the email accounts. Liaising with HR on starters and leavers for both permanent and temporary staff. Thus maintaining system security.
- Writing new and maintaining procedures for all desktop and server builds, application installation and other common procedures.
- Troubleshoot problems and faults occurring in the operation of hardware and software and escalate to 3rd parties when necessary.
- Develop, maintain and test disaster recovery procedures
- Assist with maintenance of software licence records and proof. Insuring their clients are covered and informing the Solutions Architect of any non-compliance.
- Network cabling and patch management.
- Management of domain name records and web server architecture.
- Performing the daily/weekly/monthly routines and reporting any problems. These to include things like Backups, Tape cleaning, Bank Transfers etc.
- Using network management systems software and analysis equipment to collect routine network load statistics, performance and create reports, including proposals for improvement as and when required.
- Monitor network connectivity and escalate and manage fixes with external providers when problems occur
- Within own area of competence, providing correct responses to requests for support and ensuring that all work is documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures using relevant tools such as OS Ticket system.
