Our client is currently looking for an Assessor to work Thursday and Friday in their Innovation Salon with the Hair and Beauty learners, 6 hours per day. This post will assist the course leader in the Salon, ensuring all out learners complete their assessments on time and to the highest standards.

An assessor Qualification and a Level 3 in Hairdressing is essential for this role. You will assess the learners whilst they work with our clients and therefore should have previous salon experience, and previous assessment knowledge. This role combines the need for excellent customer service when meeting the customers, with strong organisational skills to ensure our learners meet their targets.
The College is registered with the Disclosure and Barring Service and the successful applicants for these posts will be required to apply for the Disclosure at the enhanced level. The successful applicant may be asked to pay for their Disclosure.

• Strong motivational, innovative and interpersonal skills

The prison is situated in Rugby, Warwickshire which opened in 2001; it is a category B training prison holding 664 sentenced male adults. The prison also has a separate; purpose designed Vulnerable Prisoner Unit, with its own regime and facilities for 150 prisoners.

This role will be working 40 hours per week.

As a Risk Assessor your duties will be to:

• Organise and conduct SARN interviews with prisoners who have completed sex offender treatment.
• Complete SARN reports for prisoners who have completed sex offender treatment within timeframes specified by the NOMS benchmarking process and to a satisfactory level of quality.
• Disclose SARN reports to the relevant prisoner and discuss with them any recommendations made within the report.
• Communicate the outcomes of assessments to other relevant professionals.
• Attend parole board hearings as requested.
• Provide assistance to the Programmes Department in developing understanding of SARN reports across the wider prison estate.
• Ensure the maintenance of security within the prison environment by compliance with security instructions.
• Undertake other relevant duties where necessary, such as IQ assessments and programmes supervision.
• Provide treatment management support to treatment managers as required.
• Complete 'Structured Assessment of Risk and Need' (SARN) reports for prisoners completing the 'Sex Offender Treatment Programme' (SOTP).

An ideal Risk Assessor will hold the following skills and experiences:

• Have a relevant post graduate qualification e.g. masters degree in psychology.
• Previous experience working with sex offenders.
• Can demonstrate knowledge and experience of managing the risk of sex offenders.
• RM2000 trained.
• Experience in delivering and evaluating offending behaviour programmes.
• Experience in treatment management.
• To have achieved Band A or Band B at completing Treatment Needs Analyses.
• Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Overall Purpose

Key Tasks
