Our client is launching an exciting new Welding curriculum this spring, aimed at matching learners skills to the needs of local employers. This high level course requires Welding Instructors able to motivate and develop our learners into employable, up to date and enthusiastic Welding experts.

We are therefore looking for an Instructor who can pass on their wide knowledge of this industry in an engaging way, develop the programme to meet our client’s partner’s requirements and ensure they meet all Welder Training Standards. The post holder will be a high integrity welder, able to weld to International Standards and work produced will be subject to x ray examination.

Previous teaching experience of Welding at a high level is desirable, or a willingness to work towards a teaching qualification. Essential criteria include previous Welding Industry knowledge and the skills to develop and match a curriculum to the course requirements. Working with Advanced Apprenticeships in Welding and knowledge of funded programmes would be an advantage.

Team Leader Job Role

The Team Leaders responsibilities are to carry out the following tasks:
Ensure all Health and Safety Induction Training is completed and recorded, and records go back to Agency Account Manager for recording in Agency Training Matrix.
Carry out Quality Training for working on the picking lines. Record information and give back to Agency Account Manager.
Carry out Picking Rate Assessment forms as required for New Starters.
Liaise with Supervisor over poor performers. If required, carry out further training and Picking Rate Assessment forms. Complete and give to Agency Account Manager.
Ensure Staff Levels are monitored and issues are reported immediately to Supervisor and Account Manager. Monitor material quality in the picking cabins on all the lines and relay this information back to Control Room Operative and Supervisor.
Ensure correct PPE is worn and record PPE checks
Report disciplinary issues to the Site Supervisor/Account Manager for addressing and action.
Communicate with client shift Supervisor.
Work as a sort line operative, sorting through recyclable waste as required, when not performing other team leader duties
Perform conveyor belt lock-out procedure as required, following on site training
Other extra duties.

You will undertake investigation and reporting on both customer quality issues using 8D visual reporting and on internal quality issues during the assembly process. You will perform In process inspection, audits and data collection and CMM operation, with regular supplier and customer liaison required.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged the successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of general engineering / machining / power press operations and be educated to at least ONC or equivalent. You will possess the ability to think laterally, whilst remaining calm under pressure and able to adopt a flexible approach to all aspects of the role. Good communication skills, particularly the ability to influence and persuade others and being fully computer literate with all Microsoft Office applications is also essential for the role.
