CHP Plant Engineer

The Role - My client has a number of prestigious long term energy supply contracts. These contracts involve the supply of heat, chilled water and electricity to a range of consumers and high profile sites.

The CHP Plant Engineer will have previous experience in this field and the relevant industry qualifications. A good demonstrable understanding of operations and maintenance, gas fired reciprocating and ideally Diesel engine Combined Heat and Power systems/boiler plant and distribution systems on a commercial/industrial level is required.

CHP engine experience is an essential requirement of the position.

* Reactive and Planned Maintenance
* Carry out the defined CHP planned maintenance regime for all contractual obligations
* Undertake relevant CHP "Condition Based" Maintenance tasks in line with the Manufacturers specification.
* Carry out repairs, overhauls, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on associated plant
* Attend, diagnose and repair faults having due regard to customer care in this specific environment.
* To ensure maximum availability of single to multi-engine sites by means of scheduled and proactive maintenance.
* Provide 24 hour response, diagnosis and repair where required.
* Complete accurate service documentation from sites works, site paperwork and report diligently to maintain and manage site and vehicle parts stocks.
* Liaise with CHP Maintenance Manager/Contract Managers and sub contractors when on site.
* Ensure relevant health and safety policy is adhered too.
* Have an understanding on Permit to Work Systems, and all other relevant Health and Safety requirements.

* A relevant technical qualification - which must include commercial gas
* Experience of industrial reciprocating engine CHP plant
* Experience of working on MTHW and steam systems
* Understanding of CHP systems and knowledge of any associated controls e.g. EMU and BMS monitoring / control networks.
* Fault-finding and practical skills
* Good mechanical and electrical knowledge in a Field Service environment.
* Able to work unsupervised and function as part of a team.

- Managing all quantities relating to building and civil working projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures

- Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work

- Performing risk and value management and cost control

- Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations

- To attend any follow up meetings with the customer to discuss systems design, ensuring any amendments are followed up in a timely manner

- To attend team meetings/briefings as required, ensuring all data/information in respect of ongoing surveys/quotes are up to date and available for discussion

- Tasks may vary depending on the nature of the project being worked on and at the point in the process it's at

An ideal Engineering Surveyor will hold the following skills and experiences:

- Must have previous electronic and door entry systems experience

- Valid UK Driving License

- Knowledge of CCTV, access control or gate automation systems would be beneficial

- Fluent English spoken and written is a must

- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

- Act professionally and courteously at all times

- Act responsibly and with necessary care for himself, the property of others and his team

- Must be a good team worker

The working hours of this role will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 5:00pm. Occasional overtime will be available.
