So what do we need you to do? Well, as with any front of house role, you will be the face of the company and the first point of contact for all of our clients and customers. That means you’ll need to answer the phone in a professional and appropriate manner (using a swanky headset, of course), making sure that all messages are passed on clearly and accurately, and you’ll also need to treat every visitor to our London HQ like a rock star.

Almost as important as our external clients are our internal customers, so you’ll need to look after them too. We’re a global company (more about that below) and our sales teams and managers spend a lot of their time travelling about, so you’ll spend a lot of your time making sure they’ve got flights and hotels and taxis and all the other things they need to get from A to B and back again.

On top of that, you’ll also be dealing with the post, helping to organise and book various company events, making sure we’ve always got stationery and office supplies, reconciling our company credit cards and processing expenses, creating awesome PowerPoint presentations for meetings, supporting the Board Directors when their PA is away on holiday, and a whole host of other things.

Our perfect candidate will have significant experience in a busy corporate environment, and will have regularly booked extensive and complex travel itineraries. They will bring excellent organisational skills, incredible attention to detail*, the ability to prioritise a demanding workload effectively, impeccable timekeeping and top-of-the-class interpersonal skills. They will also be calm and unflappable, proactive and forward-thinking, and have what we like to call ‘The Mary Poppins Factor’, which means that you can make the impossible possible. Mary’s magic umbrella is advantageous but not essential.

Our client, a growing fitness business in Canary Wharf is looking for a dynamic Day Manager / Receptionist (approximately 35 Hours a Week) who lives no more than 20 minutes away. Flexible hours required; shifts will be primarily mornings starting between 5:30 am and 6.00 am.

Located 3 minutes from Canary Wharf Tube and DLR.

Applicant should ideally be local. They will not consider applicants who need to travel more than 20 minutes unless they drive to work. Prior experience in reception, restaurant, health club or retail shop management, a university degree, and a keen fitness interest are a plus.

Requirements:

- Outgoing personality with good customer and communication skills.

- Excellent people skills and presentation.

- Absolute fluency in English, including polished writing skills.

- Good salesmanship / sales skills.

- Meticulous attention to detail (handling and tallying of cash; entering customer data without mistakes, placing orders).

- Ability to work fast under pressure.

- Excellent computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.

- Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills.

- Ability to be proactive and take ownership, including seeing what needs to be done without prompting.

- General interest in fitness and health.

Position available immediately.

The work primarily consists of:

- Opening and closing the studio.

- Checking in customers at the reception desk and selling packages.

- Entering customers' personal details into the company's business management software.

- Updating and reconciling client accounts, booking standing orders.

- Tallying up daily revenue (cash, cards).

- Ordering supplies, performing stock checks, preparing payroll and other admin tasks.

- Dealing with suppliers and cleaning company.

- Dealing with member enquiries, answering phone calls and emails.

- Ensuring general tidiness and upkeep of the premises, including arranging repairs.

- Regularly reporting to management.
