- To be on time for work, wearing the correct clean and ironed uniform as well as correct safety shoes

- Clock in with the manager on duty

- To adhere to health and safety policies and company cleanliness policies

- Assist with the set up of the kitchen in accordance with the line check list ensuring all produce is fresh, sliced or cooked to recipe specification

- Ensure line fridges and freezers are working and to correct temperature and fully stocked for service

- Ensure all bread items are fresh and stock rotated

- Use knives correctly at all times

- Ensure correct use of colour coded chopping boards and knives to avoid cross contamination

- To be fully conversant with the food menu and the specs of cooking and presentation

- Follow company spec recipes when preparing sauces and soups

- Record temperature checks for cooking and reheating to ensure produce meets legal requirements

- Be fully conversant with EHO guidelines and able to pass basic food hygiene

- Clean as you go and be self motivated when there are no orders / tickets on (prep and cleaning)

- Record any kitchen wastage on the wastage sheet

- Assist with the kitchen daily cleaning including fridges, work tops, ovens, fryers and extract

- At the end of a day shift hand over to the evening shift staff

- At the end of an evening shift complete the close down check list
