An opportunity has arisen with an established manufacturing organisation in Cardiff, requiring a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join their vibrant finance team. The crux of the role is to supervise and support the junior accounts payable clerks and manage the accounts payable function, to ensure that all supplier accounts are accurate and paid on time.

Reporting to the Management Accountant, your specific duties will include:

• Direct and monitor a variety of purchase ledger activities within the department to ensure accuracy of records
• Liaise with suppliers and ensure queries in relation to payments are answered accordingly
• Process documentation within the SAP system ensuring that they are entered correctly and in a timely manner
• Lead the purchase ledger function by managing, supporting and coaching the purchase ledger team.
• Provide support to the Management Accountant in the month end closing process

You will have excellent IT skills including Excel and ideally, experience of SAP (or equivalent financial system). It is essential that you have leadership experience and this includes having dealt with the appraisal and disciplinary process.

You will be self-motivated, used to working in a busy, high volume environment and enjoy the challenges of Purchase Ledger. You must also have proven experience of carrying out all aspects of the Purchase Ledger function from start to finish.

The successful candidates must have a minimum for two years relevant experience, working within a busy demanding environment. Care home specific experience would be advantageous but not essential.
