We seek to appoint a highly motivated Progress Leader with experience of working with young people to join our dedicated Care, Guidance and Support Team. The role will involve the successful applicant leading and inspiring their Year group of 300 students and a team of 12 tutors and partner tutors with accountability for the academic, social and personal progress of all students in the year group and promoting ‘A Commitment to Excellence’. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in contributing to an effective learning environment and maximising learning opportunities for each individual student.
Wade Deacon is a friendly, dynamic and innovative school, awarded TES Outstanding Secondary School of the Year 2012 and is oversubscribed. Our last OFSTED described us as “an outstanding school". We have just moved into a state of the art building offering the very best facilities for 21st century learning.
The person appointed will be given full support in their career development as we believe that development of staff is a key aspect in raising standards for our students.
The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of our Personnel Recruitment specification and be subject to an enhanced DBS (CRB) check.

As our Residential Childcare Worker it will be your responsibility to be part of a team offering a comprehensive supervision and residential care and education services to children and young people. The aim is to ensure the safety, physical, social, emotional well being, and development of the young residents within a family home environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities as our Residential Childcare Worker include:

- To carry out duties in line with Trax Care's policies and procedures

- To act a key worker to specific young people.

- To promote structure, boundaries and domestic routines within the home.

- Working in line with young peoples care plans and health plans.

- Assisting in health promotion and personal hygiene development of the young people.

- To work in accordance with the National Minimum Standards for Children's homes and co-operate with any inspection process.

- Participate in, and complete reports for, Statutory Reviews and meetings concerning the young people.

- Develop and maintain appropriate working relationships with families.

- Attend and participate in supervision and staff meetings as required in the National Minimum Standards.

- Work in partnership with colleagues and other professional to meet the social, emotional, education, health and mental health needs of young people.

- Awareness and responsibility for the Health and Safety of the home, young people and yourself.

- Supporting young people with education in a non-teaching capacity.

- Support for the Alternative Curriculum and Curriculum Enrichment. The post holder may be reasonably be expected to undertake other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility that may be allocated from time to time. It is the responsibility of the post holder to comply with Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities requirements at all times

- Participate in light maintenance duties that contribute to overall standards of domestic upkeep of the home

- Provide and assist in the necessary identified transportation of residents.
