The hospital is a 23-bed hospital and care home facility that provides a specialist treatment and rehabilitation service - including locked rehabilitation - for men with complex mental health problems and co-morbid conditions such as learning disability, personality disorder and substance misuse. The unit is staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team of nurses and support workers. Case formulation and treatment is led by a full clinical multidisciplinary team.

They seek a leader who can:

Champion high standards of care - ensuring the hospital exceeds all regulatory and company standards and that staff are given every opportunity to excel through appropriate training and development

Ensure all patients have modern, inclusive and achievable care plans which help enable the team to deliver a excellent standard of support

Demonstrate the ability to engage with external stakeholders at all levels

Effect change inclusively, effectively and efficiently

Help team members achieve the highest standards with an eye for detail



Knowledge and understanding of the hospital regulatory and legal systems is vital, the Hospital Manager must also have;

A relevant clinical qualification within Mental Health or Learning Disability and evidence of clinical leadership

Proven management experience gained within an environment where patients demonstrate complex needs/challenging behavior. This should include experience of evaluating the delivery of nursing care

Prior history of carrying out audits and risk assessments and working to agreed budgets

They currently have a vacancy for an experienced leader with a high level of knowledge and skills who has the passion to develop our autism service. You will need to be a Registered Nurse RMN/RNLD/RNMH with at least two years proven experience of managing a hospital ward/unit together with experience of leading and managing a staff team within a care environment and possess clinical skills in working with people with challenging autism.

In this key role you will work closely with the Hospital Manager and other members of the senior management team in taking responsibility for leading and managing the activities of the hospital, ensuring a full and professional service is delivered to our patients at all times in accordance with company policies, all statutory regulatory requirements and within the budgeting framework.

Your responsibilities will include;

Leading the development of our autism services as a specialist provider
Developing and implementing a clinical strategy for autism
Being part of the hospital management team
Supervising and evaluating the delivery of nursing care to patients
Implementation of staff rotas to meet patient requirements
Participate in the on call rota
Scheduling staff assignments
Ensuring correct reporting procedures are followed
Working as part of a Multi disciplinary team
