Office Services Assistant - Building Maintenance

Store Support Office, Southampton, 37.5 hours

As a B&Q's Office Services Assistant, you'll work in our Property team at Head Office to provide support and assistance with routine checks and maintenance. On a day to day basis, you'll support the Building Maintenance Supervisor with any planned building maintenance work and any reactive maintenance, as required. This could include weekly fire door tests, office moves, lifting furniture, electrical installation tests and carrying out daily checks of the building operation.

Preferably, you'll have experience of working in a facilities environment with a good understanding of current health and safety legislation and safe working practises. Previous experience of carrying out plumbing work is preferable, but not essential. This role may involve heavy lifting when carrying out office moves and other maintenance.

You'll need effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders. Organised and methodical, you'll have strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise key tasks. You'll be highly numerate and confident in using Microsoft Office programmes; but don't worry you'll be given the right training to build your skills and knowledge of our systems.
