As an Electronics/Engineering Graduate trainee, you must be HND/Degree level education or equivalent in an electronic/engineering subject, have worked with or fully understand working within an ISO or certified product process environment and ideally come with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and certification understanding.

You must have a can do attitude, be a strong communicator (written and verbal), possess strong analytical ability and excellent attention to detail. If you are committed to learning and development, have the ability to work within and support a team and able to prioritise a busy work schedule this is a challenging and rewarding position.

The main objectives, duties and responsibilities of this role encompass:

• Engineering support for the production area, dealing with any product or process related issues.
• Use continuous improvement techniques to prevent line stops and urgent issues occurring.
• Drive process yield improvements through data collection and analysis.
• Work within project teams providing improvements to ensure new products are smoothly transferred into production using design for manufacture techniques.
• Management of allocated Engineering Change Notices.
• Creation / updating of work instruction and procedures.
• Support the creation of new part numbers and BOM’s.
• Design/improvement of production test jigs, working with sub-contractors as required.

Some weekend/evening work may be required to perform testing/trials outside of production hours if needed.

The main duties of the role are to:

• Ensure the production equipment is set up ready for use, running correctly/operates effectively during the shift and shutting down production line machinery ready for Night Hygiene to clear down
• Fault finding and diagnosing a range of machinery issues to reduce downtime
• Reacting to breakdowns swiftly to ensure a smooth continuous production
• Route cause analysis on recurring problems
• Report all activities including breakdown repairs
• Be proactive on ways to improve processes and machinery
• Undertake preventative maintenance and planned/routine servicing
• Ensure machinery is in good working order
• Understand health and safety and food hygiene regulations
• Maintain and routinely service facilities including lights, toilets etc.

The Company operates a continental shift system of 4days on/off and that includes working days, nights and weekends. They offer discounts on products and services as well as 20 days annual leave entitlement. In return for your hard work, dependent on your experience you can expect to earn a salary of between £34,000 and £35,500 per annum -including shift premiums.

Screening criteria include:
ESSENTIAL - Electrical Maintenance and fault finding through to repair
ESSENTIAL - Experience of 240v and 415v machinery
Basic control systems experience, ideally with PLC and HMI/SCADA
Have worked/currently work within the food packaging/processing industry would be a distinct advantage
At least level 3-5 qualification within in a maintenance/mechanical/electrical engineering based discipline
Self-motivation, good organisation skills and a practical approach to problem solving.

• Work with the Programme / Operational Teams on construction / installation related issues, to minimise delivery delays. Ensure MUS SHE&Q policies are followed at all times, for post and onsite works in accordance any regulatory requirements.
• Ensure speedy resolution of any disputes in the best interest of MUS and our customers.
• To support in the authorisation of DFE (Deviation from Estimate) process.

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills

• Fully conversant with all current legislation (NRSWA) and all proposed legislation (TMA), accredited to supervisor grade.
• In Depth knowledge of civil’s construction, cabling and installation work.
• Detailed knowledge of Telecommunications networks / environment.
• Commercial and financial awareness and preferably basic contractual knowledge.
• Basic level of understanding of Regional Government and local planning legislation.
• Organised, assertive with excellent time keeping skills.
• Can demonstrate ability to achieve or exceed standards, whilst focusing on delivery targets/milestones and quality.
• Capacity to operate in a customer centric environment, possessing excellent people skills including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Ability to influence others in a challenging environment.
• Able to work as part of a larger team.

You will report regularly to the Service Controller (so excellent written skills are also required) and liaise with customers of all levels, validating actual problems and the associated correct parts to be used for service as appropriate whilst at the same time identifying opportunities for areas of improvement and increased efficiency throughout the business where applicable.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role, it is envisaged that you will possess relevant engineering qualifications (multi skilled electrical / mechanical) and a full, clean driving licence.
