Our Client specialises in providing residential care for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties aged 10-18. They are a small company created out of the desire to make a difference to the lives of young people. Our Client has a total of seven residential care homes in Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Norfolk, each of which can accommodate up to four young people at any one time. As well as providing individual education programmes they also focus on supporting the young people to develop skills that will equip them to live a happy, healthy and independent life. They put a strong emphasis on the value of learning through experience and teach them how to take control of their lives.

They are now looking to recruit 4 Deputy Home Managers for their residential care home in Lincolnshire and Norfolk.

As Deputy Home Manager, you will deputise the home in the absence of the Home Manager, you will offer a comprehensive residential service to young people and ensure the physical, social and emotional care and development of the young residents and the establishment.

Managing the home in accordance with Ofsted and Children's Homes Regulations standards and Company Care policies and procedures, you will provide a caring, supportive and enabling environment where young people can learn and develop to their full potential. You will monitor their needs and assist in formulating individual plans that address those needs, in consultation with the young person and their social worker.

The successful Deputy Home Manager will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a residential care (preferably childcare) setting and have a good general standard of education and will already have achieved your Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce. With experience at senior level, you will have the ability to prioritise work effectively. A strong team player with excellent communication skills, you will have a mature and level headed attitude with a proven dedication to, and a good understanding of, the complex needs of young people.

Preferred applicants will have an exemplary disciplinary record, be reliable and trustworthy with a good attendance record.

This role requires an enhanced DBS Check.

Due to the age range of young people whom we work with, applicants must be 22 years old or above to apply for this role. You must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to influence the development of the newly established Wales Adoption Register. This register will form an integral part of the national elements of the National Adoption Service.

BAAF’s work positively impacts on the lives of thousands of children across the UK needing protection and care through adoption and fostering and there are over 5,000 looked after children in Wales at any given time. The Wales Adoption Register will work closely with regional collaborative adoption agencies in Wales and Voluntary Adoption Agencies to make sure that children and families have the best chance of finding a suitable match.

Reporting to the Director, BAAF Cymru the Project Leader will have a central role in overseeing the day-to-day functions of the service and take a lead in planning and implementing the future development of the Wales Adoption Register.

A qualified social worker, you will need an understanding of the placement needs of children within public care and knowledge of adoption legislation, policy and practice in Wales and throughout the UK. With your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you should be able to build effective working relationships with a range of individuals and have the capacity to enthuse and encourage others. Your job will involve travel across Wales, which will involve some overnight stays away from home. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure check.

There may be an opportunity for the successful candidate to be considered for future opportunities within BAAF Cymru as they arise.
