Job Introduction
We are recruiting a Digital Producer to join the late breaking news team in our digital newsrooms.

The role will provide support for digital publishing between 2pm and 10pm, working for our two North East newsrooms in Newcastle and Teesside. You may be based in either location.

Main Responsibilities
This is a role which involves enhancing, finessing, developing and packaging content for publication across our portfolio of desktop and mobile websites and apps. You’ll be uploading pictures, editing video/audio, ensuring content is properly formatted, tagged and optimised for search, and publishing it quickly as part of a dynamic breaking news team.

It’s fast-paced, exciting and no two shifts will be the same: one minute you could be creating a picture gallery of Cheryl Cole’s latest tour and the next editing video from a crime scene.

The Ideal Candidate
Great attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to think on your feet are essential, and experience of working with web content management systems is desirable. You’ll need a good understanding of search engine optimisation and knowledge of how content is promoted through social media.

Ideally, you’ll also be comfortable editing video and audio, manipulating and editing images, and doing basic HTML coding. You’ll also be well suited to working quickly under deadline pressure.

This is a non-writing role although we will consider candidates with journalism qualifications.

Job Introduction
It doesn’t take a genius to work out how important football coverage is to a website like chroniclelive.co.uk … but it’ll take a very special leader to take on the role of Newcastle United Editor for us!

Main Responsibilities
As part of the most radical change to a newsroom in a generation, we’ve created a Newcastle United Editor role, and the person who takes it on will be tasked with making sure we get even bigger audiences to our content online, and keep those audiences on our websites longer.
