Manage the preparation and handover of sold vehicles to customers ensuring that the customer is given a full briefing on the operation of the vehicle and its controls. Introduce customers to Aftersales staff in order that they are aware of the facilities and procedures

Through the effective use of a follow up process, maintain regular contact with all new and existing customers to ensure that relationships are maintained for potential repeat business

Develop and maintain full product knowledge of all products, accessories, prices and key features of major competitors

Ensure all customer information, sales activities, vehicle documentation and other relevant information is kept and maintained accurately and comprehensively

To participate in planning sales campaigns and promotions to maximise sales penetration and to take part fully in on and off site promotions run by the department

Job Purpose
To support the Finance Assistant in the processing and payment of all supplier invoices, to manage the daily processing of the daily Petty Cash claims made by the various units and departments, provide shared cover for Central Office post duties and provide general assistance within the finance office as required

Nature and Scope
The Together Trust currently employs around 750+ permanent staff, with around a further 100 relief and supply staff, across a number of sites in the North of England. The organisation is primarily split between Residential, Community services Education and Fostering.
The Finance Department, based at the Together Trust Centre, Cheadle, services the whole trust with a current turnover circa £21m. The Finance department currently comprises of a Finance & Administration Manager and 5 support staff to provide sales, purchasing, payroll, banking, management and statutory accounting and financial management.


The job requires interaction with other members of the finance department with an equal knowledge base, as well as assisting unit/department staff across the Trust.

As part of the Together Trust Finance Service staff team, the post holder will be expected to participate and support the ethos of the Trust. In respect of the general responsibilities as an employee of the Trust, the post holder will be required to:

• Promote a positive image of the department and the Trust at all times.

• Be aware of and follow the relevant policies and procedures, including safeguarding.

• Maintain confidentiality for all areas of the post.

• Co-operate with all Together Trust staff in maintaining harmonious interpersonal relations.


• Perform any duties as may reasonably be required by the Trust, or as requested by the post holder’s line manager and other senior managers.


Principle Responsibilities

Working within the finance department, the post holder is responsible for the management of all cash deposit accounts for over 35 services to include.

• Responsible for daily Cash processing & balancing

• Undertake monthly petty cash audits


Processing of all supplier invoices ready for payment to include:

• Processing of circa 1000 supplier invoices per month ensuring all authorisation and coding has been completed at service level

• Scanning and filing invoices

• Supporting the Finance Assistant with computerised and manual payments


• Providing shared cover for Central Office Post duties To deal with the incoming and outgoing mail on a daily basis, ensuring that all incoming post is sorted & distributed appropriately and outgoing post is franked and ready for collection at the appropriate time




Person Specification


• A working knowledge of Purchase Ledger accounting package (SAGE software desirable)

• A working knowledge of cash management processes and procedures

• A high standard of written and oral English, together with good interpersonal skills

• The ability to work as a member of a busy team and contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department as a whole

• Effective problem solving skills, with the initiative to seek advice when required

• The ability to prioritise, organise and take responsibility for their work and ensure deadlines are met.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accurate keyboard skills, input and retrieval of information from databases and Excel - Excellent numeracy and accuracy skills

• Good degree of communication skills at all levels

• Hold or be working toward an accountancy qualification would be desirable
