* Geographic support technician

You compile and manage geographic data from a variety of sources. The detailed analysis you provide, with access to advanced IT kit and geographic information systems, is essential.



* Survey engineer

Your input is vital in large-scale building projects. You’ll map out the site before work starts, using GPS technology to ensure the site is set out correctly to plan.



Qualifications to gain include:

* Apprenticeship Level 2 NVQ in Warehousing and Storage
* Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (FMA)
* Level 2 NVQ in Engineer Maintenance and Installation
* Variety of driving licences
* National Certificate in Building Studies and Computer Aided Design
* NVQ Level 2 in IT
* Level 5 Higher Diploma in Engineering Surveying





Qualifications required: Not all of these roles require any previous qualification. Some may require 2 GCSEs at C grade in English Language and Maths /Science/ICT.

* Cover full project life cycle from concept design through to manufacture
* Lead Product Development through design, prototype build and testing phases.
* Provide technical leadership and develop consistent work practices, design standards, document control, etc. within the Engineering function
* Lead, manage and mentor a team of 4, approve designs, calculations, etc.
* Deliver timely and practical engineering solutions
* Liaise closely with managers, project Managers, Sales ,Engineers and Technicians

Key Skills and Experience

* Ideally a Chartered Engineer (CEng.) and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE.) with good stakeholder management and client engagement
* Good approach to Project Management
* Experience of delivering technical solutions in Oil & Gas, Defence, Nuclear (or similar highly regulated industry)
* Must have extensive 3D CAD modelling and ANSYS experience
* Familiar with relevant materials, design tools and practices
* An enthusiastic and driven Mechanical Engineer, able to demonstrate a diverse range of experience and capability of delivering technical solutions across a number of market sectors.
