One of the biggest names in UK media has an opening at the top of their Application support function for an experienced, enthusiastic Application/Service Desk Manager (1st line) used to working in high growth, change-orientated environments.

Responsible for in excess of 100 web-based applications (a number that grows almost weekly and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future) a team of fifteen Application Support Analysts and five Helpdesk Technicians report to this position.

The role takes ownership of application management strategy as well as the service desk , operational efficiency including improvement, monitoring, and reporting, supplier management, change and communication management, solution planning, disaster recovery provisioning, recruitment and management of the application support function, and management, planning and delivery of systems enhancements.

Applicant Support Managers/Service Desk interested in this role will need extensive experience at the head of an application support function as well as the service desk (1st line), including hiring staff, defining processes and working under ITIL methodology.

Experience should be specific to a growth orientated, rather than static and corporate, environment.
