An Enforcement Officer is required to join the UK’s leading provider of outsourcing and professional support services. They deliver back office administration and front office customer contact services to private and public sector organisations across the UK and Ireland. 28 years ago they had 33 employees; today they have over 46,500.

They currently have a contract with the BBC to administer and enforce payment of the TV Licence. They process payments, respond to customer queries, inform people when they need to buy a TV Licence and give information on the many ways they can pay. They are also responsible for identifying people who aren't correctly licensed and prosecuting people who evade paying their TV Licence. It's their aim to maximise licence fee revenue by collecting the fee in the most cost efficient way possible.

As an enforcement officer for TV licensing your role will be to visit selected residential addresses to maintain an effective deterrent against evasion of the licence fee. You will enforce legislation by taking statements under caution where appropriate and maximise sales revenue for the BBC.

You must be able to complete paperwork legibly and have a desire to hit set targets. A flexible attitude to attendance which will include some evening or weekends work is essential and the ability to deal with some conflict and difficult customers.

Hours are 37.5 per week, these are flexible however at least 17 hours per week must be worked between 4pm – 9pm weekdays or at the weekend.

You must have a full driving licence and use of a car, mileage costs will be reimbursed.

The basic salary is £14,000 per annum plus uncapped commission, average earnings in 2013 were £25,996.

Successful applicants will be subject to a standard DBS check.

- Maintain good day-to-day relationships with relevant Regulatory organisations, Advisers and internal support services.
- Manage and carry out a monitoring plan in order to analyse the company’s compliance with regulatory requirements including FSC (e.g. COBS, SYSC, and TC), data protection, information security, anti-fraud, money laundering and business continuity requirements.


Skills and Experience:

- Minimum 5 year’s experience within the Financial Services industry
- 5 years experience of Compliance, preferably in the Investment and Life Protection sectors.
- Ideally 2 years experience of Investment Products.
- Ideally previous experience of Controlled Function 10 and 11, if not experience of dealing with the Regulators and significant working knowledge of the FCA Handbook.
- Experience in financial services (ideally 1-2 years), preferably with some working knowledge of the FCA handbook and its practical application or within a third party administration firm.
- Experience of monitoring, risk management and/or internal audit skills.
- Good inter-personal and communication skills and be a strong team player.
- Experience of reporting to Executive level and submitting Board level Management Reports.
