You would be responsible for overseeing the project managers and their day to day running of all teams and contracts. You will be responsible for bringing projects in within budget and help the company expand and become more profitable. You will be liaising with clients and ensuring customer satisfaction.
You will have financial and technical understanding ideally learnt from within the construction industry or similar.
Salary circa £35 - £40K Profit share

Job Title: Head of Estimating (Residential Building)
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 depending on experience

The company specialise in software and associated services for the construction industry. The Estimating Service provides take-off services for small to medium sized building firms across the UK. They provide their service through a network of prestigious partners including national builders’ merchants and other large organisations.
Purpose of the role:
They are looking for a Head of Estimating to manage our team of experienced estimators as well as working hands on estimating themselves using our market leading EstimatorXpress software toolset. You will have Account Manager support and the full backing of the Sales & Marketing Director and Technical Director.
As the Head of Estimating you are accountable for the delivery of their estimating service partner Support Level Agreements assuring the timely delivery of estimates to clients. You will manage our small team of estimators with the operational responsibility for the delivery of the estimating service to meet revenue targets set by the Sales & Marketing Director.
The role also includes client liaison; both from a customer service perspective with the handling of client queries about their estimates and with new and existing corporate partners to help achieve substantial sales growth within this business unit.
Coordinates estimating team and quality manages their delivery Monitors estimating team daily operations Trains and manages the estimating team on the structured method of estimate delivery – from initial order through delivery of reports Assembles accurate and realistic estimates & cost plans using EstimatorXpress (take off detailed information from construction drawings, specification, bills of quantities and schedule of works) Ensures estimating service SLA’s are adhered to and exceeded Maintain records and historical data as reference for budget preparation, and checking future estimates YOU:
Prior experience with estimating and pricing concepts in residential construction essential (housing/extensions/loft conversations etc) Be qualified to either HNC/HND or degree level with a relevant industry sector qualification Communications experience at senior manager/director level would be advantageous Exceptional attention to detail It would be advantageous if you were familiar with EstimatorXpress (estimating software) but not essential Professional experience with MS Excel (including formulas and functions, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint Strong mathematical and financial analysis skills ‘Can do’ attitude in order to grow business You must also hold a full driving license HOURS:
