* General Fitter:You service, maintain and repair plant machinery, such as JCBs or Caterpillar excavator. You'll become an expert in workshop practice, understanding petrol and diesel engines, generators and pumps.



* Engineer logistics specialist

Working on base and in combat zones, you make sure essential supplies get to where they’re needed, safely and at the right time



* Geographic support technician

You compile and manage geographic data from a variety of sources. The detailed analysis you provide, with access to advanced IT kit and geographic information systems, is essential.



* Survey engineer

Your input is vital in large-scale building projects. You’ll map out the site before work starts, using GPS technology to ensure the site is set out correctly to plan.



Qualifications to gain include:

* Apprenticeship Level 2 NVQ in Warehousing and Storage
* Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (FMA)
* Level 2 NVQ in Engineer Maintenance and Installation
* Variety of driving licences
* National Certificate in Building Studies and Computer Aided Design
* NVQ Level 2 in IT
* Level 5 Higher Diploma in Engineering Surveying





Qualifications required: Not all of these roles require any previous qualification. Some may require 2 GCSEs at C grade in English Language and Maths /Science/ICT.

Our client, a leading player in the field of fire life safety, are now looking for a sales professional to assist in the growth of their fire protection business and market share throughout Scotland.

The role is on a part time basis - 2/3 days per week and has a strong new customer acquisition focus. You will be selling high volume, multi-product service contracts, within fire suppression and detection, to businesses as well as being responsible for managing client accounts. Generating new business, canvassing and qualifying own leads; you will identify and target new prospects by cold calling and arranging your own appointments. You will be covering Scotland and you will be primarily based in East Kilbride.

Using a combination of technical and commercial selling styles you will link technical design standards with practical construction and commercial sale initiatives to develop detailed design solutions, cost plans and proposals. The negotiation of our systems can be complex and may involve detailed contractual discussions.

Experience in a field based, customer facing sales role is essential, with the successful candidate being able to develop and maintain good relationships with customers. Experience in the fire industry would be beneficial however not essential as full product training can be provided.

On offer is a base salary and excellent benefits which includes a pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, car or car allowance, company phone and laptop. The base salary is supplemented further by a commission plan, which is quarterly based and rewards for new sales v target, it is designed to support high reward at and on target levels and beyond whilst recognising margin and volume.

Responsibilities
• Provide technical support to marine discipline projects at all levels: production of technical specifications, project execution and delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

The Naval Architect/Marine engineer must have:

• Engineering degree in a relevant subject for the position or equivalent qualifications
• 3+ years of exposure to marine or subsea industry performing similar role.
• Some site experience of fabrication, new build vessel or conversion projects
• Excellent IT skills in word processing, spreadsheets and engineering packages as Auto CAD.
• Good communication skills particularly written reports, presentations etc.
• Good understanding of vessel systems, design and equipment integration.

Preferably:
• Chartered status
• Some experience of the offshore industry.
• Knowledge of failure mode and effect analyses (FMEA)
• Project management experience or responsibility for budgets.

• Mobility - regular short term business trips up to 1 week
• Ability to work under pressure and to communicate well at all levels within the company

• Knowledge and understanding of the production techniques for metal forming and fabrication
• Demonstrate the ability to identify and develop production engineering requirements and procedures for set-up, proving and implementing efficient production processes.
• Skilled in utilising Lean tools and techniques and developing a continuous Improvement culture
• Be able to communicate efficiently as part of an integrated project team, involving stakeholders at all levels, which includes proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
• Be able to gather, analyse and solve problems using recognised problem solving techniques.
• Experience of working in a heavy manufacturing environment with heavy handling requirements
• Experience of proving and implementing fabrication processes and procedures
• Working knowledge of profile burning, weld preparation and plate rolling processes
• Degree / HNC qualified in the appropriate fabrication engineering discipline
• Formal training in Lean Manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of process simulation software
• Understanding of MRP process
• Has good working knowledge of Microsoft Project and/or Primavera
