Our Client based in Crieff is one of Scotland’s best known 4* resorts for leisure, meeting, incentives, conference and Events (MICE) and is clearly recognised as one of Scotland’s leading independent hospitality business. Two hotels totalling 240 rooms, 55 self-catering units, 14 meeting rooms, 6 F&B outlets and over 60 activities from free childcare, spa to horse-riding, golf and waterskiing. The list doesn’t just go on - it gets bigger all the time with ambitious plans to grow and diversify the business. The plan is to nearly double the existing £18m revenue and 500 team-members over the next five years - and that’s just with plans in the pipeline which would see owning and/or operating other Hotels and scaling up operations like retailing, is looking to appoint a financial director.
The Financial Director is a key player in the Leadership team, to help develop and implement the strategy for an aspirational approach to financial management supporting rapid business growth plans including:
Leading the development of the financial strategy, investment strategy and contribute to the development of the overall business strategy:
Driving the alignment of governance, business strategy and financial performance.
Produce robust business cases to support investment and financial decisions in line with the best practice. Ensure the effective financial management of business growth projects by
Developing an aspirational approach to financial forecasting, cash flow control and CAPEX in line with business growth
Ensure that the finance function and the processes supporting it are fit for purpose and well managed:
Leading the development and ongoing review of the ways of working with finance, supporting the finance and Insights Manager to embrace and implement leading edge technologies, processes and practices
Delivering clear, accurate, appropriate and timely management information regarding business financial performance, for various stakeholder groups including the Board and the Leadership team
Applying candidates for this Financial Directors remit must been a qualified accountant (CIMA) you will have several years of experience at a relevant sectors with a proven track record of a wider commercial remit.
You will be used to working at pace in a dynamic and complex environment but have the insight and capability to make the changes required to optimise your function.
You will have a strategic approach with the ability to keep the long term in mind as well as taking a “hands on” approach to the short term tasks and priorities.
Situational leadership skills will be taken as read along with strong influencing skills and a coaching-led approach to working with your reports and peers.
You will have gravitas and instant credibility with a diverse stakeholder group alongside some experience of change management.
Competitive salary in the range £70,000 - £90,000
