Cathcart Associates are now helping our Global client grow the development team in the Dunfermline office. Our client develops world leading, high-spec payment and banking technology solutions. With headquarters in Europe and offices world wide, the company are at an exciting time of growth and are rapidly expanding their product lines. They are looking to add a skilled and motivated Software Developer to the team.
My client is looking for someone with a good academic background – a 2.1 Degree in a relevant field, and someone who has had at least a couple of years of recent commercial experience in C++ programming. I am also interested to hear from candidates with strong Object Oriented programming skills and experience in Java or C# programming if you do not have C++ specific experience. You will be working largely on desktop applications and so ideally your experience will be of a similar nature.
This is a fantastic career move if you are looking to further develop technically and professionally in a company where you will be able to fine tune your experience in a particular programming language, but where you will also have the opportunity to be exposed to a range of leading technologies (C++/C#/Java). You will be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from design and architecture to the development and delivery of solutions. If you have had exposure to developing payment/banking specific applications then this would definitely be a real plus, but it is not an essential requirement.
There are around six people in this development team at the moment, working with agile practices, and there is a structured growth plan in place over the next two years as the company continues to broaden their product lines on a global level.
This is an opportunity to join a still small team of developers where day to day you will work in a close-knit and friendly team environment, but you will also be part of a much larger global, ambitious and innovative company producing software solutions to major businesses around the world – there are real career progression prospects.
This role offers the opportunity for occasional travel. Developers who work for the company have had the opportunity to spend some time in Australia, America and Europe. There are flexible working hours in place - my client is business, but also family, orientated and understands the importance of work/life balance.
