Bank Care Assistant
Penylan House, Cardiff

Are you looking for a flexible caring role where you can make a real difference and contribute to the highest standards of care delivery in the not-for-profit sector?

Penylan House has a history of delivering excellent care to the local community since 1955. Having recently moved into a brand new state-of-the-art nursing facility, and with an additional 43 beds due to open from July, there couldn’t be a more exciting time to join us. From our roots in social housing, Linc Care operates across South Wales and provides homes and services to older and vulnerable people. We have adopted the ‘Eden Alternative’ approach to care, and place the individual at the heart of our care philosophy.

As a Bank Care Assistant, you will work alongside our Care Assistants and Nurses as part of a supportive care team, across any one of our ‘communities’ to deliver consistently high quality care and we very much promote a team culture. With a staffing ratio of 3 elders per member of staff, you can be assured that you have the time and space to ensure you deliver person-centred care.
Your duties will include:
• Ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained by supporting / assisting Elders with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and all other aspects of daily living.
• Assisting Elders who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of mobility aids and personal equipment provided.
• Making and changing beds, tidying rooms and maintaining Elders clothing.
You must be able to manage multiple tasks through to completion and handle difficult situations sensitively, adapting promptly to the changing needs of our Elders, always demonstrating sound judgement, common sense and initiative. To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, reliable and committed to making a positive difference to the Elders and have a genuine interest and enthusiasm in delivering person-centred care.

Despite being in the not-for-profit sector, Linc’s aim is to operate with commercial awareness and return any profits for the good of the services it operates, the people who use those services, or the wider community. If you feel you have a social heart then there couldn’t be a better time to join Linc.
