Basic Purpose and Scope:

The Director, Quality Assurance will assist in the planning and execution of our client’s web sites, mobile applications, merchant-facing and internal systems according to deadlines, quality, and budget. The individual will coordinate with the Director, Program Management to accomplish project goals. This includes managing the day-to-day efforts of Quality Assurance team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Director, Quality Assurance will also assist in defining the project’s objectives and verifying compliance through the lifecycle. As a member of the technology leadership team, the individual will be expected to lead by example, create a high-performing environment, and help drive the teams to meet their collective business and strategic goals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead the planning, execution, tracking, and compliance of projects.
• Prioritize and manage the usage of team resources for projects and work assignments on a day-to-day and project basis.
• Capture and analyze metrics (defect rates, automation, coverage, and related data) to gain quality and performance insights for continuous improvement.
• Develop and institutionalize quality assurance standards, procedures, practices, and guidelines that are designed to limit quality risks, improve effectiveness/productivity, and adjust with the marketplace technology.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field; 10+ years’ experience in technology with a focus on software testing of applications using Microsoft’s .NET and web based technologies; 2+ years’ experience in testing mobile applications; 6+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience writing and executing manual and automated functional test plans and suites for black-box and grey-box testing.
• Technically competent with various software programs, such as Microsoft Office.
• Experience implementing/operating tools such as HP’s Quality Center, HP’s Quick Test Pro, VSS, and Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
• Solid/extensive experience of manual and automated test management using Selenium, HP Quality Center, HP Quick Test Pro, HP LoadRunner and/or WAPT.
• Ensure software performs accurately, efficiently, and according to plan.
• Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
• Understanding of complex automated systems and project management life cycle practices and tools (SDLC/Agile and custom development).
• Experience designing, implementing and executing load, performance and scalability test cases.
• Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies.
• Solid understanding and experience in testing SOA based services.
• Database and operating systems experience with Windows, Linux, MySQL, Oracle and MS SQL Server.
