Pastoral Healthcare is an independent provider of specialist mental health services and is currently seeking to recruit Support Workers to our facility in Cardiff. Ty Catrin is a low secure unit dedicated to the treatment of people with personality disorder and complex mental health needs.
As a Support Worker you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, assisting adults detained in a low secure mental health setting achieve their full potential and agreed therapeutic outcomes within a safe positive environment. You will carry out assigned duties, involving direct care and observation of patients both inside and outside the unit, under the guidance and supervision of a qualified nurse.
Previous experience of working in the care sector or a secure environment is essential along with proven experience working with a similar patient group in a secure environment, excellent understanding of the needs of the patients detained under the Mental Health Act, and hold an NVQ level 2/3 in Care, however this is not essential. The role of Support Worker does require escorting patients in the community, therefore holding a full driving licence is advantageous as you will be expected to drive Company Vehicles.
Shifts will include Monday to Sundays (including bank holidays) long days and nights.
If successful, your appointment will be subject to a DBS Disclosure.
We are looking for successful candidates to commence on our training courses in May and June.
