Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, your role would be to design Power Supplies (AC/DC) and provide the highest quality laboratory, telephone and on-site customer support to maintain this company's top position in the marketplace.

Based in Luton, this role involves 30% travel for on-site customer support within Southern Europe to key customers. The majority of this role is design-focused.

Essential skills:
Strong AC-DC Power Conversion Design experience
SMPS Design
Complete Hardware build
Magnetics Design experience
Self-motivation and passion for electronics
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in Power Electronics or a related field, and have a minimum of 2 years in the design and development of Power Supplies.

Languages:
Fluent English - essential written and spoken
French - non-essential desirable

My client are a leading manufacturer of LNBs, switches and accessories for the satellite TV and VSAT markets worldwide.

The position of Mechanical Design Engineer is a permanent position and requires a professional design engineer. This engineer will be reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and will have a good degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of two years mechanical design experience; less will be considered for an exceptional candidate. The position is permanent (subject to successful completion of a three month probationary period) with a competitive salary plus excellent benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 To design and manage the mechanical elements of various new products. Product design may require a completely new implementation, or an adaptation of an existing design. Design involvement occurs at all stages of the product lifecycle, and includes design concept, detailed design, prototyping, generating and releasing production drawings, assistance to production, and assistance to sales/marketing. From time to time you may be required to visit various suppliers around the world (predominantly in China and Taiwan). There will be a significant amount of supplier liaison during the development of your designs.


 To generate designs and the associated 3D and 2D drawings which meet agreed specifications and product cost, and which are completed within agreed timescales; utilizing DFA, tolerance analysis and GD&T techniques.
