Communications and Policy Manager
Central London (short walk from Borough and London Bridge Stations)
£45,000 + Excellent Benefits

Our client is a dynamic and growing charity working across London and supporting vulnerable adults and children.

For the past 40 years they have been focussed on meeting the needs of their service users. They now want to use that experience to contribute to the quickly evolving policy environment so that they can articulate the needs and experiences of their service users as well as influence the policies which have an impact on their lives and aspirations. Our client feels that they owe it to their service users to bring to the attention of key decision makers, as well as the wider public, the impact that policies have on them as well as to promote better policies. The organisation are also especially keen to raise their profile with the general public so that they can support them.

This is an exciting time for the charity as they seek to build a profile which reflects the breadth of their services, the extent of their experience and the hopes and dreams of their service users.

They are currently seeking a Communications and Policy Manager to play a vital role in this new strategy. The main purpose of this role will be to work as part of a small team focussing on key policy areas and supporting the development of other key organisational strategies. You will work closely with the fundraising department in order to align policy and communications work in line with the fundraising strategy. All our client’s policy and communications work will be rooted in the experiences of their service users and they will seek to influence local and national responses and gain public support for their work.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of building relationships with key policy makers both in Whitehall and Westminster and will be capable of using this to influence policy makers to improve the lives of those who rely on others to advocate for them. The ability to represent the charity publicly and speak for them with confidence is essential, therefore you must be articulate and professional. With access to a wealth of data including a wide range of service user experience work, our client are looking to engage someone who can work with both the breadth of content and the detailed numbers analysis to help both shape and raise their profile within the wider public to gain support for their work.
