Tŷ Bronllys is one of three educational services within Ludlow Orbis Group. The Ludlow Orbis Group is a rapidly expanding, innovative specialist education, residential care and clinical service which caters for children, young people and adults with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and other associated complex needs, including behaviours that challenge.
Tŷ Bronllys is a two part service that operates with one vision; to enrich the lives of all children and young people, promoting lifelong learning and skill development. Registered as an independent School and Children’s Home, Tŷ Bronllys is located within the small village of Bronllys within the Brecon Beacons and is designed to provide specialist education and residential services for up to 8 children and young people between the ages of 8 -19 years who have a diagnosis of an Autistic Spectrum Condition or associated difficulties relating to the triad of impairments.
Tŷ Bronllys prides itself on offering meaningful packages of lifelong education and residential care to those who have in the past struggled to access conventional mainstream services; offering each child young person and adult an individually tailored and holistic programme of support; equipping them to face the challenges of later life.
Tŷ Bronllys has undergone a number of very successful CSSIW and Estyn inspections, with the most recent being in February 2013. As a service provider, Tŷ Bronllys continues to build upon prior success and aspires to become a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for children, young people and adults with an ASC and associated complex needs.
As a Residential Education Worker (REW) at Tŷ Bronllys you will be required to provide educational, residential and therapeutic care and support to all children and young people, enabling them to gain greater independence and confidence. Whilst this role will predominantly require you to support our young people with personal needs and care within their residential setting, you will also be expected to work across all areas of the School including alongside the teachers within classrooms, clinical services staff and the wider community. This post involves shift work.
You will actively seek to encourage and promote the development of independence and transferable life skills for our children and young people, and work in proactive close partnership with our multidisciplinary team, care coordinators and the children’s families.
We are seeking to recruit a candidate with a passion and commitment to delivering specialist education and residential care to those with autism and Asperger’s syndrome. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with colleagues from across our wider educational facilities, Tŷ Coryton in Cardiff, Beechwood College in Sully; and to join an expanding, successful educational organisation that puts the needs of its children, young people and staff at the centre of all decision making.
To be a successful Residential Education Worker you will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and an innovative approach to enriching the lives of those we support. Excellent communication skills and a desire to learn new knowledge and skills will enable you to develop within our expanding and sector leading organisation. Successful applicants will also either already have, or will be expected to work towards, QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) during their employment.
If successful, your appointment will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) check.
