Eden Brown is currently looking for a Duty Social Worker to join a large Independent Fostering Agency based in the North West.

Role: Permanent

Salary: £24,500 -£30,000 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week.

Summary

The Duty Social Worker has responsibility for the overall operation of the duty service, taking referrals from local authorities, matching children with foster carers, taking enquiries from potential foster carers, entering them on the data base and undertaking any other administrative functions necessary. The Duty Social Worker is directly accountable to the Area Manager, or to the staff member delegated by the Area Manager to supervise this post.

Areas of responsibility

-Co-ordination of the Duty System for the fostering service
-General administrative duties arising from duty
-Inputting and extracting information from database
-Liaison with supervising social workers
-Liaison with local authorities
-Liaison with foster carers
-Dealing with members of the public who are interested in finding out more about fostering
-Managing e-mail referrals of all descriptions
-Maintaining HCPC registration through attending relevant courses and undertaking additional pieces of work

Duties

-To lead on all aspects of the duty service including telephone calls, e-mails and documentation. To liaise with Area Manager and Deputy Area Managers and fostering supervising social workers.
-To liaise with stakeholders, primarily local authorities making referrals, foster carers and members of the public.
-Respond to telephone calls and e-mails and discuss with staff as appropriate.
-Undertake general administrative tasks including word processing/typing/file maintenance, related to the duty role.
-Keeping carers profiles up to date
-Work to deadlines and respond in a flexible way to the changing demands.
-To carry out any other task that the Area Manager, or any other Senior Manager requires.


Please note that to apply for this position you must have experience of working as a duty or fostering and adoption social worker either in the workplace or for exceptional candidates on a university placement.
