The hourly rate for the role will be £7.62, rising to £8.12 after successful passing of the 5 month probation.
The salaries listed are inclusive of the Inner London Weighting.
We are looking to recruit highly motivated and dedicated Activity Facilitators to work in our innovative Day Opportunities service based in Barkingside, Redbridge.
In the coming year we are looking to introduce a ‘co-production’ model of support as a pilot within this service. Therefore if you are looking for an opportunity to work in an organisation that is leading the way in terms of delivering truly person centred support services, then this is the role and the team for you.
We have up to full time hours available for this role, but would accept applications from individuals who are only able to offer part time hours. All roles will involve working evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Therefore we are looking for people who are highly flexible and can meet the needs of our service users.
Outward is a London based registered charity that provides care and support services for some of the most at risk groups of adults in our communities. We support individuals to live valued lives within the community and our aim is to support service users to have genuine control over their lives, play an active role in the community, accept responsibilities and develop as individuals. We are an innovative care and support provider, committed to piloting new initiatives, new approaches and new ways of working to ensure that we effectively meet the wants and needs of those that we support. We believe in taking a person centred approach in all aspects of support service delivery. You will therefore need to have good judgement, show commitment and initiative.
The individuals that you will be working with have moderate and severe learning disabilities, as well as being diagnosed with autism.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach to supporting and caring for adults at risk through previous social care experience or work of a similar nature. This may include the delivery of personal care. You will be creative and motivated to support service users achieve a fulfilling life by supporting them to gain new skills and independence. The majority of your time will be supporting service users to attend activities that they enjoy and pursuing hobbies or supporting with domestic tasks.
IT literacy is essential as you will be required to complete your timesheet and other admin duties on line.
Please note that experience of working with people with learning disabilities is desirable, but not essential.
All staff who join Outward gain full access to the organisation’s comprehensive training package, as well as having access to any development opportunities that arise within the organisation. All staff are assigned a Line Manager, and so will have regular supervisions and support.
Annual Leave entitlement is calculated based on the hours worked on the Flexible Contract.
Furthermore, the service users that Outward supports in Redbridge are very varied and will enable staff to gain a great deal of valuable and practical experience of working with people with a range of different learning disabilities and Autism.
