Overview

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Embedded Systems Engineer will be a key member of the development team. This is primarily a software/firmware role but with knowledge of embedded microprocessor hardware and architecture being desirable.

In time, the ideal candidate will be expected to develop into a Senior Engineering role.

Essential Skills:

* Development of Embedded software/firmware in 'C' and 'C++' using modern tools.
* Knowledge of Embedded and real time software and debugging techniques.
* Knowledge of structured and Object Orientated programming.
* Development of Graphical User Interfaces

Desirable Skills:

* Knowledge of ARM based microcontrollers and microprocessors.
* Embedded Linux.
* Digital and Analogue electronic design.
* Communication protocols e.g. TCP/IP, RS232, USB, SPI, I2C
* Assembler, C#, Visual Basic, Java, SQL & ASP.NET Languages.

* To be responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with Company procedures and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) standards of practice.

* To represent physiotherapy services and/or individual patients at multi-disciplinary team meetings and case conferences, to ensure the delivery of a co-ordinated multidisciplinary service, and integrate physiotherapy treatment into the treatment programme. To provide information and specialist physiotherapy opinion at these meetings and advice to medical nursing staff and other members of the multi -disciplinary team should this be required.
* Assisting in planning a smooth transition of patient care from the hospital to the home.
* To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the job.
* To maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of any new trends and developments and incorporate as necessary into your work and comply with the requirements of the Health Professional Council registration as a Physiotherapist.
* To ensure a valid and up to date NMC Registration, HCPC Registration or any other required Professional Registration is held and maintained at all times.
* To ensure compliance with the Health and Social care Act regulations 2010 by adhering to the Care Quality Commission standards at all times.
* Undertaking such other duties as may be required from time to time as are consistent with the responsibilities of the grade.

A current clean driving licence is essential, along with being HCPC registered.
