Orbis is an offshore investment firm with an outstanding performance record. We now wish to recruit a Quantitative Investment Analyst to join our team of 8 Quant Analysts to support our R&D in portfolio risk management, portfolio construction and trading implementation.

You will need a Ph.D. in an investment or economic-related discipline and a first class undergraduate degree from a world-class university. Proven experience in portfolio modelling and construction, plus experience in programming using C# and SQL. Actual investment management experience will be a strong advantage.

The role is based in London. Base salary will be a minimum of £75,000pa, depending on qualifications and experience. Bonuses will be discretionary and based on performance.

An Asbestos Surveyor is required to join a UK based contractor with international experience and capacity providing highly competent asbestos management services, soft strip demolition, fire risk assessment, FIRAS accredited fire stopping, RoSPA accredited health & safety trainings and other environmental services.

They are recognised as one of the UK’s foremost specialists, with over 30 years experience in the safe control of hazardous substances with a streamline services that extends from surveying, investigation and analysis of suspect material to final safe disposal, offering a further range of services including leak sealing and the safe clean up of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear materials.

They are looking for competent and capable asbestos surveyors to join their established asbestos surveying department. You will be working on a mixture of ongoing contracts in a variety of industry sectors (retail, residential or hospital/NHS) as well as undertaking project based R&D surveys for a wide range of clients from the construction & facilities management industry sectors.

Main Responsibilities:

- Carrying out Pre-Refurbishment, Pre-Demolition, Management & Reinspection Asbestos surveys to UKAS standard
- Carry out survey works according to project specific scope of work information provided
- Carry out risk assessment
- Aid in ensuring reporting turnaround deadlines are met by efficient submission of samples and survey information
- Use database or company paperwork for survey completion dependant on project
- Quality control of asbestos survey reports

Position Summary:

The Automation Engineer will undertake a deep diagnosis of process automation problems, undertake route cause analysis and develop hard solutions to prevent re occurring faults.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Automation Engineer looking to broaden their experience within a world leading organisation. To provide written instructions, and the training of technical staff throughout the business with regards to current and new projects and all the related equipment used in and around the site. Technical support & direction to all technical individuals throughout the business, all processes to be documented in the correct formats provided by the company.

Key Accountabilities:

- Manage the maintenance and development of all PLC control systems throughout the site
- Provide expert understanding and fault analysis of automation/ process control systems
- Support the development of shift technicians and enhance their capabilities through training and coaching
- Provides technical assistance and expertise to manufacturing in problematic situations, implementing corrective action.
- To ensure that all processes meet or exceed health & safety requirements
- Measured continuous process improvements
- Implementation of plastic moulding processes, machines, materials and all necessary tooling and equipment specific to plastic process moulding industry, at an advanced engineering level with minimum supervision
- Establishes quality requirements, tolerances and specifications. Coordinate and complete the validation process for new moulding processes, machines and equipment.
- Coordinates and directs training for the operation.
- Reviews, analyzes, directs, and implements improvements to products and processes to assure improved product quality.
- Fully participates in PPI /Lean with daily Gemba participation & support of production objectives including schedule execution, downtime reduction, troubleshooting, etc.
- Leads kaizens to quickly address opportunities associated with safety, quality, delivery and costs.
- R&D support when and where necessary throughout the cooperation.
- Interfaces with production management, other engineers, set up, operators, etc. to resolve problems, identify needs and implement improvements.
- Provides training to set up and operators as required.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Essential:

- HNC in Plastics or Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years experience in the plastics moulding and / or plastics engineering field with a high propensity toward technical competency.
- Excellent technical skills including demonstrated technical competent and capable of handling all projects within this discipline, organization, and planning.
- Strong oral & written communication skills in English, with a possibility of an additional language.
- Results and proactive solution driven with ability to think critically to overcome hurdles to complete tasks.
