Role summary
Data Centre Engineers provide Hardware Installation and Support, hands on maintenance and upgrades, provisioning of new hardware, technical support and remote hands for both internal and external engineers. This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior Data Centre Engineer who is looking to learn new skills and understanding of the running of a Data Center in a hosting environment.

Data Centre Engineers are responsible for helping to build, rack and maintain the continuously growing number of machines hosted by ServerSpace, both company owned and client owned. The role primarily focuses on maintaining the racks within the DC, and installation and decommissioning of servers. There is also exposure to software support, security, and system backups.

This role would suit a graduate (or equivalent) with Basic Data Centre experience. Not only does this position offer the chance to join a fantastic team but for the right person, there is ample scope for career development.

This role is based between our London Data Centres as necessary.

Primary responsibilities:
* Installation of all new hardware for clients and systems
* Setting up and fixing customer supported systems
* Managing rack space and keeping audits up to date
* Customer hardware migrations
* Client access and escort
* Liaison with engineers from other suppliers in the DC during circuit and suite installations

Secondary responsibilities:
* Rack audit and capacity planning
* Planning new rack layouts, cabling designs and cable installation
* Software and hardware inventory
* Processing deliveries and dispatches
* To undertake any other tasks that may reasonably be required

PERSON SPECIFICATION
To be considered for this position, all of the essential requirements for the role must be met.

This IT support company are looking to recruit an IT Support Engineer to provide 1st/2nd Line Support services to their clients.
