Applications are invited by a small established SSAIB accredited security company looking to appoint a Security Systems Engineer as part of its continued growth.
Responsibilities include responding to customer calls which have been logged by the Service department, carrying out planned periodic maintenance to contracted sites and installations at various locations across London and the Home Counties. You will also be required to form part of the out-of-hours call-out rota.
Ideal candidates will have experience of large integrated security systems including analogue and IP CCTV, access control, intruder detection and related systems. They should also hold a City and Guild or NVQ qualification in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) and a full valid driving licence.

Technical Vending Machine Maintenance Engineer

As part of a national field maintenance team you will be responding to re-active and planned service calls for our entire vending & to a lesser extent chilled cabinets range, undertaking installations and Customer training, and providing routine maintenance to our fleet of equipment. Utilising your good communication skills you will be meeting our Customers on their commercial sites and keeping them updated with the progress of their service call. Alongside your formal training and/or previous experience, together with the outstanding levels of training provided by company you will be expected to diagnose and fix all types of faults (working to component level) - ensuring our Customers equipment is repaired within our agreed service levels.

Main Duties

* Respond to re-active service calls on equipment
* Execute installations and Customer training on newly installed equipment
* Carry out preventative/routine maintenance on equipment
* Liaise with Customer and company call centre staff to ensure everyone is kept informed

Essential Skills

Good electrical knowledge / understanding. (C&G Radio/TV/Electronic servicing or Electrical engineer/installation qualification or 3 years experience of similar equipment)

Thorough mechanical knowledge,

Knowledge of all payments systems - cash or cashless

Accurate fault finding to component level (eg; operational component).

Basic understanding of refrigeration principles.

Full understanding of safe working practices & H&S requirements

Full clean driving license

Package: £17,000 to £22,000 + Company vehicle, tools & specialist equipment, uniform supplied appropriate to the changing needs of the role

Reporting to the Field Service Controller, after an initial training and induction period encompassing all aspects of Health and Safety and working at height, the successful candidate will carry out service calls on a preventative and reactive basis at customer premises as required, undertaking Preventive Service Maintenance and repair of customer’s site equipment and other manufacturer’s products and systems, in full response to customer’s requirements, whilst communicating activity and requirements with the customer in a clear and concise manner, and reporting via job sheets the activities carried out and faults found during service before resolving servicing and maintenance issues.

Complying with all Health and Safety Requirements, you will additionally provide assistance in the installation and commissioning of any machines, and will be flexible in your approach to the position and be able to carry out tasks with little or no site supervision, whilst possibly being time restrained in carrying out that task.

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will currently be working on Plant and Equipment, highly probably within a maintenance Environment, and will demonstrate experience of working with Materials Handling Equipment, Automatic process equipment with a solid mechanical background. You will be electrically Time Served and have multi-skilled experience and as the role is field based, you will be comfortable with working in various locations and varied environments under your own initiative.

A full clean driving licence, ONC or above in a relevant engineering discipline and a time served electrical engineering background are therefore essential requirements for this role, alongwith multi skilled abilities on both AC and DC controls as well as hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical applications.
