Main Purpose of job:

- Produce components in accordance with quality, cost and delivery targets.

Key Tasks:

- Fabrication of aerospace sheet metal parts using jigs, fixtures and manual methods of production.

- Accurate interpretation and completion of production route cards.

- Keep work area clean and tidy.

- Participate in team-based activities.

About you:

- Must be able to read and interpret technical documentation and drawings.

- Have experience of working with stainless steel and titanium.

- Must be able to work under own initiative with limited supervision accurately and timely.

- Significant experience as a sheet metal worker in the aerospace industry.

• A good understanding of the manufacturing process.
• Have excellent ability in preparation and termination of many different types of cables and connectors, using various methods of soldering and crimping of coaxial and multi-core cables.
• Must be an adaptable and flexible person, and be able to work as part of a friendly team.

In return you will receive a salary of £7.00 to £8.00 per hour.

Programming/Setting:

* Able to create entire new programs to customer's drawing requirements
* Competent with relevant programming methods
* Be a competent problem solver
* Have some understanding of mathematical concepts required (e.g. trigonometry)
* Able to program and set effectively to optimise cycle times
* Be aware of tooling available and utilise accordingly
* Ensure every job is clocked onto and time recorded
* Able to program and set machine within allocated time or improve where possible
* Ensure correct information logged on to tooling sheets including ensuring that any amendments are updated accordingly
* Able to recall saved programs and ensuring any amendments to program are correctly saved
* Ensure component submitted for first off inspection meets drawing requirements first time
* Where practical, pre-set/program ready for next job

Key Responsibilities:

* Undertaking first off, in process and final inspection
* Lead Investigations, resolve product quality problems and liaise with the customer on quality related issues.
* Completing first article inspection reports in accordance with AS9102 and customer requirements
* Managing Improvement projects and internal audits
* Raising non-compliance notes, completing route cause and establishing corrective and preventative action
* Maintaining the company calibration system.
* To be able to work with the production, design and engineering departments to implement and lead continuous improvement.

Skills/ Experience:

* Previous experience of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems
* Qualified to ONC/C&G/NVQ3 in an Engineering discipline would be preferred
* Trained internal auditor to ISO9001 and AS9100 standards would be an advantage
* Minimum 3 years' experience in Quality engineering within the mechanical/industrial manufacturing sector.
* Excellent understanding of First Article Inspection (FAI) Standards being able to complete to AS9102 documentation.
* Not essential but beneficial if you have experience in using CMM's running QCT inspect 3-D software.
* Previous leadership experience would be preferable.

Purpose of Role:

The design, planning, documentation, implementation, optimisation, testing and supervision of manufacturing processes are key requirements of the job.

An essential skill is the ability to communicate with workers involved in all stages of manufacture, both verbally and in writing. Enthusiasm, cooperation and a positive outlook as well as a thorough understanding of the technology and manufacturing concepts involved is important, as is the ability to prioritise.

Main Purpose of Job:

- Ensure our client's quality, cost and delivery targets are met.
- Create / maintain all documentation associated with the manufacture of components assigned to the team.
- Create / Implement problem resolution and development plans to address longstanding production issues.
- Support Quality in the closure of NCRs.
- Support Operations in the drafting / approval of concessions, rework sheets and all other documentation associated with day to day plant activities.
- Support the Commercial team in the formulation of quotes.
- Define specific time-based project plans with measurable objectives.
- Conduct PPAP activities.
- Thorough analysis of process / tooling design and definition.
- Ensure that 'best practice' engineering and production techniques are used.
- Implement continuous improvement activities
- Implement root cause analysis and problem solving techniques.
- Document the progress of projects and provide regular up-dates to the team.
- Undertake special projects as requested.
- In-house and external toolmaker planning and control.
- Implementation of capital investment projects.
- To provide cover for other engineering disciplines as requested.

- Educated to HNC / HND or Degree Level.
