Opportunities include:



* Vehicle mechanic: Working on engines and vehicle systems, you diagnose problems and come up with repair solutions. Advanced training equips you to work on everything from motorcycles and generators to armoured vehicles, trucks and tanks.



* General Fitter:You service, maintain and repair plant machinery, such as JCBs or Caterpillar excavator. You'll become an expert in workshop practice, understanding petrol and diesel engines, generators and pumps.



* Engineer logistics specialist

Working on base and in combat zones, you make sure essential supplies get to where they’re needed, safely and at the right time



* Geographic support technician

You compile and manage geographic data from a variety of sources. The detailed analysis you provide, with access to advanced IT kit and geographic information systems, is essential.



* Survey engineer

Your input is vital in large-scale building projects. You’ll map out the site before work starts, using GPS technology to ensure the site is set out correctly to plan.



Qualifications to gain include:

* Apprenticeship Level 2 NVQ in Warehousing and Storage
* Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (FMA)
* Level 2 NVQ in Engineer Maintenance and Installation
* Variety of driving licences
* National Certificate in Building Studies and Computer Aided Design
* NVQ Level 2 in IT
* Level 5 Higher Diploma in Engineering Surveying





Qualifications required: Not all of these roles require any previous qualification. Some may require 2 GCSEs at C grade in English Language and Maths /Science/ICT.

GATE AUTOMATION INSTALLATION SERVICE ENGINEER

SALARY: £25,000 to £30,000 basic plus benefits

LOCATION: Based from the office in East Grinstead RH19, to cover London and the South East.

HOURS: 8.00am- 5.00pm

You will be an important part of a small, successful team, your role as Installation/ Service Engineer/ Maintenance Engineer/ Technician will be to supply, install and maintain electrically operated Automatic Gates, Barriers and Access Control Systems, covering the M25 area/ Southern Home Counties.

Working to the highest possible standards of health & safety, taking account relevant legislation, you will be expected to take responsibility for complete installations, from ground works through to all associated controls, and be able to communicate effectively and professionally with both customers and other members of the team.

On a day-to-day basis your duties and responsibilities will include:

* Planning and Scheduling Installation and Maintenance

* Attending site meetings to discuss customer requirements

* Advising on the best technical solutions / products

* Wiring, Connecting and Testing Automatic Gates, Barriers, CCTV and Access Control.

* Commissioning Automatic Gate and Barrier Systems

* Fault finding, Repairing and maintaining existing systems.

* Liaising and Reporting to Director to update on Project Progress.

A hard working and conscientious field based service and installation engineer, with good attention to detail and strong customer focus, you must have a minimum of two years experience with Gate and Barrier Automation. You will have a recognised electrical qualification, and Electro-Mechanical background, have the ability to fault find and repair, posses a cleanUKdriving licence and a current CSCS card.

You will be an enthusiastic and motivated Installations and Service Engineer, Qualified Electrical / Mechanical Engineer with an understanding of PLC however not essential. You will be computer literate.

Your current or previous roles may have included: Installation Engineer, Service Engineer, Installation Technician, Electrical Service Engineer, Mechanical Installation and Service Engineer, Service Technician, or similar.

Reporting into the Regional Property Delivery Manager, responsibilities will include:-

·Leading the regional contractor delivery teams with an annual value of circa £0.75m and ensuring repairs are completed in the most efficient way in accordance with Anchor customer requirements.

·Working collaboratively with the regional partner contractors and suppliers and other Anchor support teams to deliver excellent customer service and continuously improving value for money.

·Ensuring repairs are delivered on time and within budget and to manage continuous measured improvement.

·Working within the regional and national Property Delivery teams to ensure repairs are delivered in line with the Anchor client best practice principles and collaborative delivery processes.

·Liaison with operational colleagues to maximise the efficiencies of the responsive repair service

·Maximising efficiencies by utilisation of minor planned works as appropriate including completion of project briefs for minor or additional planned works as required

·Understanding performance, provide feedback, confront poor and consistently drive up performance in collaboration with repair delivery team and key stakeholders

·Management of open book payment process for designated repair area

·Collection and collations of any relevant data for inclusion in Anchor Asset data base i.e. Identifying areas of frequent component failure and ensure asset strategy and plan are updated

·Supporting operational colleagues in the management of the void, aid and adaptation and customer improvement processes

·Management of insurance claims and provision of support to operational colleagues

Required knowledge & experience:-

·Qualified to a minimum of ONC level in Building, electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience

·Working knowledge of current building policies and practices including Health & Safety at Work Act, Building Regulations, Party Wall Act, Workplace Regulations, CDM and British and European Standards

·Knowledge of IT packages/applications to produce reports and presentations containing complex data and information

·Background in Building, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with prior experience of repair delivery

·Awareness of CDM process and working with CDM Co-ordinator

·Previous experience in managing the delivery of responsive repairs, regional service contracts, void and aids & adaptations programmes.

·Prior Repair management and defect diagnosis

Required skills:-

·Ability to use own initiative when managing varied and broad workload

·Ability to learn quickly and adopt best practice

·Ability to take ownership of issues and drive through to conclusion

·Flexible, co-operative approach and ability to work in a team

·Ability to prepare scale drawings, produce specifications and schedules of work
