We currently have a weekly art group which is facilitated by staff. At times due to holidays or other commitments the group cannot run which is very disappointing for the young people who enjoy it. We would like to involve a volunteer/s to help facilitate a regular art group/s for young people.
Young people want and enjoy the opportunity to express themselves through art, develop skills producing their own art work and explore working with different materials and media.
The main tasks would include:
•Helping to organise each session. •Engaging with young people and encouraging them to come along. •Encourage the young people to join in during the session. •Teaching young people art skills •Introducing young people to a wide range of art and media, sometimes through outings. •Each session would last around two hours.
Required skills and experience:
•Enthusiasm and creativity. •The skills and knowledge to teach others art skills. •You should be out-going and confident enough to lead the sessions when required. •Must be able to engage with the people we support and have the ability to make the sessions accessible to young people. •To be creative – perhaps there is an aspect of art that we have not thought about that you think you could bring to the group- we are open to suggestions and ideas. •The ability to listen and adapt to the needs of the people we support.

We would like to involve a volunteer/s to facilitate a regular music group for young people. This is something we had on offer in the past and that was enjoyed by young people. We have a range of practice instruments available including guitars and keyboard. Young people want the opportunity to develop skills in playing instruments, especially guitar, singing and some enjoy coming along to listen to music.
The main tasks would include:
•Organising sessions/group •Engaging with young people and encouraging them to come along. •Encouragement to join in during the session. •Teaching young people to play the guitar or keyboard – we can look to access more instruments if we get volunteers with a wider range of skills. •Introducing young people to a wide range of music. •There is potential to access a local recording studio. •Each session would last around 2 hours.
Required skills and experiences:
