Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Ensure that the Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures of the Company are implemented and maintained to current legislation.
- Ensure all staff fully understand and observe all aspects of the policies and procedures.
- Organise regular physical audits to ensure compliance to relevant standards and agree an action plan for improvement with the team for any discrepancies.
- To plan, budget and manage all company internal and external training.
- Maintain and update COSHH Assessments.
- Maintain the format and standards of risk assessment and method statement compilation.
- Ensure all accident and incidents are recorded and reported correctly and recommend any remedial action necessary to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain and implement site emergency procedures.
- Ensure the Company maintains ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 status through liaison with a suitable Accreditation body
- To manage any budgets within set levels and manage certain role related costs
- Support the completion of Commercial Tenders where a HSEQ input is required.

Qualifications and Experience – Ideally most or all:

- NEBOSH General Certificate essential, Diploma preferred
- Affiliate member of IOSH essential, Technician member preferred
- Certificate of Technical Competence (CoTC) Waste Management
- Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA)
- You must have a good working knowledge of these systems and be able to take on the role of Lead Auditor for each one.
- BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management Systems
- BS EN ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management Systems
- BS OHAS 18001: 2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
- Meaningful experience in industry with a wide experience of various operations.
- You will take on a varying degree of responsibility for all personnel so previous experience in a supervisory role is essential.
- An ability to deliver training or aptitude to potentially deliver courses would be beneficial.
- Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are essential, as is the aptitude to pick up an in house customer management system.

Main Responsibilities
This is a role which involves enhancing, finessing, developing and packaging content for publication across our portfolio of desktop and mobile websites and apps. You’ll be uploading pictures, editing video/audio, ensuring content is properly formatted, tagged and optimised for search, and publishing it quickly as part of a dynamic breaking news team.

It’s fast-paced, exciting and no two shifts will be the same: one minute you could be creating a picture gallery of Cheryl Cole’s latest tour and the next editing video from a crime scene.

The Ideal Candidate
Great attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to think on your feet are essential, and experience of working with web content management systems is desirable. You’ll need a good understanding of search engine optimisation and knowledge of how content is promoted through social media.

Ideally, you’ll also be comfortable editing video and audio, manipulating and editing images, and doing basic HTML coding. You’ll also be well suited to working quickly under deadline pressure.

This is a non-writing role although we will consider candidates with journalism qualifications.
