JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will be responsible for working with employers to identify and diagnose their recruitment, workforce development and business support needs. The post holder will then promote and sell products and services to meet those needs, working to monthly targets against key products and services as shown below.

KEY TASKS

Develop and implement a range of activity which produces leads and creates the opportunity to sell products and services to employers. Such activity will include but not be limited to:

Using MAYTAS and Captavia reports to produce lists of employers in key sectors
Generating mailshots and completing follow-up calls
Cold Calling
Distributing promotional leaflets
Attending employer events
Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues to build the number of referrals received
Using vacancy advertisements in the press and on the web to identify leads before following them up
Work with those employers engaged to identify their recruitment and workforce development needs before selling appropriate services to them from the product range. In doing so, to maximise income through the sale of multiple Group services
Where commercially beneficial to do so, develop packages of support for employers, which offer discounts on certain products and services in order to generate large, profit generating volumes on other services - such promotional packages must be approved by the Employer Services Director before they are offered to the employer
Develop ongoing relationships with employers, who have used services previously, ensuring that repeat business is generated and, where appropriate, that new services from the Group’s product range are taken up
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE

Ability to identify market opportunities and develop differing routes to market
Ability to negotiate with employers, maximising sales as well as managing expectations and dealing with complaints
Ability to prioritise and organise workload
Experience of and ability to deliver convincing presentations - both one-to-one and group
Networking and communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to liaise and develop relationships with people at all levels of an organisation
Ability to work with and support colleagues and peers
Ability to assimilate and analyse information quickly and accurately, and to work to deadlines.
Flexible approach to work including willingness to travel and working occasional unsociable hours
Well-developed IT skills, including an understanding of computerised management information systems, spreadsheets, diary management, and e-mail
Business-to-business experience, preferably in the recruitment/workforce development industry
Ability to make contact with decision makers, identifying business opportunities and closing contracts
Knowledge of recruitment and training services
Highly motivated and results oriented
Flexible and resilient approach
Confident and positive approach - able to establish credibility and respect with businesses, individuals and public bodies
