Due to exceptional growth, our client, who is based close to Salford Quays and has been trading since 2005, is now embarking on an expansion plan that will see them double in size in the next 6 months.

Our client is an experienced lead generation agency that specialises in delivering value through targeted and effective campaigns, backed up by rigorous quality control and smart software, developed and maintained in house. They work in B2C and B2B markets and have built a stable and capable team with a broad range of experience. They currently work in partnership with clients delivering B2B leads and appointments for a wide range of different sectors including insurance, IT, banking, haulage, financial services and commercial property.

The IT department is responsible for all aspects of IT, from networking and telecommunications to hardware troubleshooting and data management. Our client also specialises in system development (web applications), data efficiency and analysis in a contact centre and marketing environment.

Due to growth, our client is now looking to recruit a Web Developer, which will involve maintaining and enhancing internal systems, including call centre systems, and client, web based, CRM systems. The role will also include creating new solutions and investigating new technologies. The IT Systems developer will report to the Managing director. Although the role is one of development, other IT functions will require support on occasion so a rounded interest in all aspects of technology would be beneficial. Training will be provided for this aspect of the role.

Objectives:
• To support and develop our client’s software, including both web-based call centre systems and CRM systems.
• To be proactive in developing new applications, systems and solutions.
• To support new business initiatives.

Roles and Responsibility:
• Be responsible for internal and client web systems development, including reviewing and recommending improvement or expansion opportunities.
• Maintenance of databases in both local and Internet environments.
• Be a point of contact for IT campaign delivery, including resource planning, time scales, cost estimates and delivery.
• To work with the data manager to optimise campaign performance.
• If required, attend client meetings and support sales efforts.
• Collaborate with the appropriate departments to develop and maintain systems that support organisational needs.
• Ensure equipment and software operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
• Support operational and client services as requested.
• Conduct research in order to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable in regards to industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and system alterations. This may involve attend training or conferences as required.

Skills and Experience:
• Commercial experience of PHP and server maintenance (LAMP).
• Working knowledge of MySQL or SQL.
• Experience of database administration, including design and maintenance.
• Web development and styling using HTML or CSS.
• Testing and change management.
• Troubleshooting desktops and user support in a Windows environment.
• Client-facing experience when dealing with system requests.
• Experience managing a network would be beneficial but not essential.
