The Role

We have a number of exciting opportunities to join us as a Refrigeration Shift Engineer (nights only). We have various opportunities throughout the South East of England (including opportunities in London) on a permanent basis.

The role will be covering 12-hour night shifts on a four-on four-off basis. The general purpose of the role will be to carry out planned and reactive refrigeration maintenance tasks throughout the nights safely and to an agreed standard within a defined portfolio of Sainsbury's stores to a required Service Level. You will also provide first line response to all emergencies on an out of hours basis through the night and when on call.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Undertaking all refrigeration reactive and planned maintenance tasks allocated and completed to an agreed standard

- Being available when on call to ensure effective response & resolution to satisfy customer needs and escalating where appropriate

- Completing refrigeration surveys and technical reports as necessary and cascading all key data to relevant personnel throughout field operations

- Ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety requirements and adhere to best working practices at all times

- Effectively diagnosing and identifying faults and failures with equipment and systems and providing effective solutions

Requirements

For this role you must have solid experience and a C&G 2079 F-Gas qualification. Commercial CO2 experience is also required. As this is a field-based position you will also need to hold a full UK driving licence. You would also be able to demonstrate the following key skills:

- Ability to work unsupervised in a pressurised environment dealing with store teams & members of the public

- Actively contributes to the team's targets either individually or by supporting others

- To represent the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and develop a good working relationships with colleagues

- Proficient IT skills

- Happy to cover a large geographical area on a mobile basis (company vehicle provided for business use only)

The post holder must be able to work flexibly, as determined by business requirements, including weekend working on a rota basis or other.

The working hours of this role will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 5:00pm. Overtime and Saturdays will be available. You must be available for on call work (one week every 2-3 months).
