About the job

This is a permanent position for 22.5 hours per week working across seven days a week and will include sleep-ins.

As a support worker you will provide a customised, responsive and high quality service to people with multiple sensory impairments and/or learning disabilities. You will be empowering the deafblind person to live as independently as possible with appropriate levels of support.

Your role will be to provide practical support, including intimate personal care, completing all the relevant documentation promptly and accurately. You will ensure that the living accommodation is respected as someone’s home, carrying out any domestic duties, such as cleaning, washing and ironing, that is necessary.

You will regularly liaise with other members of staff in order to co-ordinate assessments on appropriate deafblind people.

As a Support Worker you will work as part of a flexible team across a seven day rota which includes early and late shifts with opportunities for extra hours.

*For genuine occupational requirement reasons our client is looking to appoint a male only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

Skills and abilities

No previous experience is necessary as they offer a full training program which can lead to recognised qualifications.
