As part of this role you will have the opportunity to go through external T-SQL and K2 developer training, this will be in addition to our in-house training.

Within this role your main responsibilities will include developing and maintaining management information and reporting, developing and maintaining reports within our case management systems, analysing business requirements to enable the development and testing of new business processes and working with project teams to design, develop, test and release new project processes in case management systems. You will also be expected to ensure new processes and applications are documented, demoed and handed over fully to the IT Service Desk, continually review applications and code, create, maintain and update user access levels and design, develop, test and maintain integration with other core applications.

The successful candidate will have some experience of working within a similar role (this could be in work experience capacity) and will hold a relevant, recognised IT qualification. You should be confident in using C#, T-SQL, Javascript, XML, XSLT, CSS and HTML and you will be a strong communicator who can deal with all levels of individuals, including non-technical. It is essential that you are highly organised and can plan and prioritise a heavy workload with ever changing responsibilities. You must also be able to think outside the box to come up with innovative resolutions to problems that may occur. You will be customer focussed and understand the important of using your time wisely and you will be keen to learn new skills and abilities.

As a Quantity Surveyor based within our Commercial Department, you’ll liaise closely with our Buying and Technical disciplines as part of a support network for the construction of new homes. Key responsibilities include the management of sub-contract orders, site valuations, work in progress, upkeep of computer records and the general surveying management duties for sites under your control. It’s a key role in helping the business to control our finances during the lifecycle of house-building projects and will also involve:

• tendering documentation and processes
• optimisation of third party cost control
• review, negotiation and approval of project-related supplier costs.
All this will require the development of productive relationships with supplier counterparts.

Qualified at least to BTEC/HNC level in building studies, you must have a proven track record in housing development, ideally supported by experience of the COINS surveying package. With a good level of computer-literacy and first-class, all-round communication skills, you have a professional and flexible approach to the demands of surveying for housing development and infrastructure. This should include experience of:

• budget preparation
• carrying out valuations
• appointing subcontractors
• processing payments and generally managing finances across a number of sites.
