Based on Milton Park, Abingdon, the company is seeking to recruit a Web-Developer/Programmer initially on a 6 months contract with the prospect of full time employment. Reporting to the Operations Manager the position will interface with Project Management and Business functions.

The successful candidate will develop skills in project planning and delivery. He or she will be passionate about seeking innovative solutions and working to applying them quickly and accurately.

The post holder will be involved in the full project life-cycle from assisting the Management through documenting and developing the website and business critical applications. Production support/bug fixing of both new and existing software will be required as part of the role. The successful candidate is expected to be someone with a degree-level IT qualification or substantial equivalent who will receive training sessions covering the various programming languages and databases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Involvement in projects of varying size and complexity.
• Working from written specifications and maintaining accurate
• Quality testing of systems and applications.
• Provide in house support for applications, intranet and external client facing websites.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Either:
o a degree in an IT/business subject or
o at least two A-level’s with at least 2 years working experience in IT or
o NVQ Level 3 in IT or equivalent.
• A proven ability to work with little supervision in an efficient and cooperative manner
• Experience of developing an IT system from specifications
• Experience of VB.NET, ASP.NET, CSS
• Experience or an understanding of Object Orientated programming and methodology.
• Experience of Database (MySQL).
• A good understanding of computing including operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills including excellent spoken and written English.
