The Job:

Reporting to the Site Manager, the successful Internal Verifier will be responsible for assuring the quality of the delivery of teach, learning and assessment programmes and associated qualifications at specified sites/locations to meet learners’ needs and the requirements of OFSTED, the SFA and other funding bodies, awarding organisations and internal quality processes.

A peripatetic role, you will be based in the most local office based on your location. Key responsibilities include:

• To assist in the management of the quality of teaching, learning and assessment across all training contracts
• To observe all training delivery staff in line with the Company’s OTLA strategy and CIF grading process; completing all associated paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• To provide feedback on best practice, identify development needs of Training Coordinators and address areas for improvement identified as a result of sampling, monitoring and OTLA; providing support and guidance as required through 1-2-1 sessions, group delivery and standardisation of and CPD events
• To dual observe delivery staff; both with partner organisations and to provide an impartial judgement as and when required
• To verify assignments, portfolios and assessment activity to assist in the management of the quality of accredited qualifications for all contracts ensuring both internal and national standards are maintained and needs of learners are being met
• To mentor, support and assess unqualified/new training staff to achieve TAQA qualifications
• To maintain accurate and reliable monitoring and sampling records, providing reports to management in accordance with required deadlines
• To liaise with Site Managers – Quality Assurance and Work Based Learning – to ensure that all delivery staff are provided with up-to-date guidance and support on the consistent delivery of qualifications across all sites and programmes
• To produce accurate and timely management information; as determined by contract, funder, Award Organisation and organisational requirement
• To adhere to quality processes and procedures and assist with the monitoring of these to ensure continuous improvement and compliance
• To monitor own progress towards business and individual objectives
• Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, each employee has a responsibility to Health and Safety and must also adhere to their responsibilities as laid out in the H & S Policy
• Any other related duties as required by the business objectives
The Person:
• In possession of broad experience within a Training and Development environment and have proven coaching, teaching and delivery skills
• A thorough understanding of competence based training, National Vocational Qualifications and Employability and Personal Development Programmes
• Must be in possession of occupational competence in the NVQs for which they are responsible
• In possession, as a minimum, of relevant Assessor qualifications (D32/D33, A1/A2 or TAQA) and the appropriate Internal Verification qualification of D34, V1 or TAQA
• Also be in possession of a relevant level 4 teaching qualification (e.g. C&G 7407 stage 1 & 2; C&G 7304, CTLLS)
• Must be in possession of a Level 2 English and Maths qualification (or equivalent)
• Effective time management and organisational skills required
• An adept communicator with the ability to persuade and influence
• Enthusiastic and flexible team player with high expectations of self and others
• Competent in the use of technology with excellent IT and administration skills
