Sessional staff will be required to promote walking, scooting & cycling by supporting Sustrans project activities within the area of Birmingham and Solihull to either lead or support the delivery of activities (mainly in schools and workplaces) such as cycle skill, cycle training, bike maintenance sessions, led-rides, travel advice sessions and promotional events. A team of staff is required to be available on a flexible basis to be called on as and when activities are planned and this will include some evening and weekend hours.

With a good standard of education and Bikeability national standards instructor qualification, you will be committed to cycling and walking and the promotion of sustainable transport. You will have experience of supporting engagement activities, physical activity or other behaviour change projects and of working with people in a public facing or customer service role. Your enthusiasm will be motivational to others and your strong written and verbal communications skills will complement your excellent engagement skills. A good understanding of basic bike maintenance and of the local geographical area is essential. Clearance by a DBS Disclosure check is mandatory.
