To both Operate and Maintain a Power Plant and to act as shift supervisor.
This position requires an experienced multi skilled mechanical plant fitter/technician to join our existing team of Plant Operatives. This hands-on role involves both daily operating and maintaining a Bio Fuel Combustion Plant, which generates 14W electricity.
The Plant includes HP steam raising boilers, steam turbine, water treatment plant and associated equipment such as pumps, valves and electric motor drives.
Any Allen Bradley plc, ABB controllers and inverters experience is preferable, but not essential. Experience of HV Switching (11Kv) and operating generator sets, in parallel with the National Grid.
Shift pattern is a variable 4 days on & 4 days off, 12 hour shifts, days and nights.
This role offers an intellectual challenge in successfully operating a plc. controlled process plant and Fluidised Bed Combustor, Waste Management Treatment and Power Generation.

Senior Engineer Luton to £40k (negotiable dependant upon experience)
Our client is a globally recognised leading supplier of pump and electric motor solutions for a diverse range of applications and industry sectors. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an Engineering team leader to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will provide leadership to the Engineering team in an assigned project group, taking ownership of products from concept through to delivery as well as responsibility of the project outputs, ensuring on time within budget delivery and compliance within established processes and procedures.
You will ensure the timely close out of any product issues relating to the customer and operations on a Right First Time and On Time in Full basis, and will develop the engineering division as a whole by demonstrating professionalism, project leadership and timely delivery of engineering output. Additionally you will both mentoring and developing others within the team whilst reviewing customer specifications (agreed at sales/engineering handover) and supporting the Product Introduction Manager. You will adopt a multi disciplined team approach to product design i.e. electrical, hydraulic, analytical and purchasing and both promote and take ownership of all milestones associated within your responsibilities.
Additionally you will take responsibility for the delivery of all associated customer documentation, ensuring customer queries are closed out and applying your knowledge of regulatory and statutory requirements, e.g. PED, ASME or TUV on an ongoing basis. You will check engineering deliverables meet project specifications and both support and participate in ongoing improvements of existing designs, materials and methods to reduce the cost of manufacture, time to market or improve the performance of company products, whilst actively supporting Value Engineering initiatives.
