Equipment Team Support Officer
Salary: GBP18,795 - GBP19,171 (Grade 3)
Contract: Fixed Term (12 Months)
Hours: Full Time - 37 hours per week
Work Pattern: Flexi Time
Location: SYFR Headquarters, Sheffield, S1
To work as part of the equipment management team to maintain, monitor, improve and implement necessary action to ensure continuity of an effective emergency response service.
The essential function of the role is to ensure that relationships are maintained with suppliers of technical services and manufacturers of equipment and services required for service delivery.
Key elements of the role are to provide advice and support on projects and on aspects of operational equipment within Technical Services to other members of the team and to other appropriate members of staff/employees. To respond to emails on behalf of the Technical Services Manager in relation to equipment defects, maintenance and other such queries.
To be considered for this role you will need to hold the IOSH qualification and have an understanding of Health Safety / Risk Assessments in relation to work equipment
You must possess the ability to identify and implement recommendations arising from the Asset Tracking system and process data, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures (i.e. data protection).. To make the necessary arrangements for either the repair, replacement, maintenance or purchase of operational equipment to ensure frontline Firefighting appliances are fully equipped.
The key duties will include; the review of procedures and policies and making recommendations where appropriate for other members of Technical Services. To provide and maintain the Equipment Manuals and Risk Assessments relating to Operational Fire Service Equipment, including reviewing associated Risk Assessments and amending where necessary.
