Our client is lead partner in an innovative Worcestershire consortium. This consortium has been successful in securing funding from the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver the ‘Building Better Opportunities’ (BBO) programme across the County.

The local BBO programme has been shaped by the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, and the National Lottery Community Fund is matching funds from the European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-2020 to invest in local projects tackling the root causes of poverty, promoting social inclusion and driving local jobs and growth. The project is currently in its third year and has recently received notification of a contract extension due to its success to date.

This success has come from the Worcestershire principal Housing Associations, Redditch Borough Housing and a range of specialist Voluntary Sector Organisations working together.  It offers managing agents such as the European and UK Government a local solution for national programmes. To take forward their success they are seeking to appoint an experienced, motivated, enthusiastic and experienced person to be a ‘Building Better Opportunities’ Job Coach. You will work with Vestia and the wider ‘Building Better Opportunities’ team to provide employment support to Building Better Opportunities participants.

Our client is looking for an experienced person to work with people furthest from the labour market; who holds information, advice & guidance qualifications, has an understanding of the UK Welfare to Work Programme and has the ability to motivate and mentor learners facing social and economic barriers to sustained employment.  You will also be required to increase the number of employment opportunities with potential employers and negotiate with them to offer work experience and interview opportunities for participants.  Success will be measured in part by the number of participants you help secure and sustain paid employment.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own case load, have a positive attitude and be an effective communicator with participants and external partners.

This post is a fixed-term contract, up to 24 months depending on start date and will be funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and European Social Fund. This is a challenging post and will require you to be innovative. You will be part of a dedicated team that provides a high quality service and an organisation that is committed to valuing and supporting its employees and the local community.

Due to the nature of this work, an enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for successful applicants.
