This is a hands on role, supporting and managing our mobiles teams across Nottingham, Peterborough and Northampton.
You will ideally possess a relevant horticultural qualification in order to understand the types of plants, trees and shrubs on our sites and the best way to care for them. You will ideally have experience in managing a small team, providing regular guidance and support and monitoring the standards of work.
Responsibilities / Tasks Duties will include leading your teams to complete the following tasks:
Grounds Maintenance:
* Mowing, edging and upkeep of the grass areas.
* Pruning and shaping of bushes and shrubs and hedge cutting.
* Maintaining all flower beds, shrubs, trees and other plants across the estate, including weeding and removing dead growth/flowers.
* Litter picking across the estate.
* Periodic sweeping of hard landscaped areas such as paths and parking areas.
* Undertaking 'one-off' works such as applying bark, replanting and tree surgery.
* Recommending changes and putting together proposals for replacement and improvements to the planting.
* Supporting the Estate Manager (office based) with feedback regarding any issues on the development or matters that require their input.
Key Criteria/Qualifications required
* Gardening/horticultural qualification - (preferred)
* Minimum of 3 years' experience as a grounds maintenance operative, skilled gardener or landscaper and the correct, safe use of relevant machinery/equipment such as pedestrian mowers, strimmers and hedge cutters.
* Experience of managing/leading a team, managing workload and day-to-day duties.
As well as the above, you will:
* Have a good standard of education, educated up to GCSE or equivalent
* Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
* Hold a valid UK driving licence
* Be legally able to work in the UK
